Synopsis
[Legend]
On the Yue City Forum, there's a special feature about urban legends, collecting all kinds of tales from the city. Browse for a while and you'll quickly find one post with an exceptionally high number of views, titled "The City's Greatest Urban Legend: The Yue City Vampire."
[Do you believe vampires exist in this world?]
Imagine you're walking down the street when someone who looks so weak they might be starving to death steps in your way and begs, "Could you give me something to drink?"
If you ever have the misfortune of running into them, promise me you won't respond. Whether you give them something or not, they will refuse it, bare their sharp teeth, and say: I want your blood.
They say that if you're bitten, your body will undergo some degree of mutation. What you'll turn into is still unknown...
[First Meeting: Jian Yue]
Late at night, a set of footsteps made its unhurried way down a path beyond the reach of the streetlights, heading toward the bridge. Just as the walker reached the planted strip a few steps from the guardrail, a hand suddenly shot out and grabbed her slender wrist. The force of the movement knocked the bag from her hand, sending stones of all sizes rolling across the ground.
Jian Yue stopped and turned to look at the hand reaching out from the bushes.
A weak male voice came from within.
"Could you give me something to drink?"
Jian Yue looked around before replying, "Sorry, I didn't bring anything to drink, and I don't see a convenience store nearby."
"No, you have..."
Beneath the shadows of the trees, the bushes stirred in the breeze.
"I want your blood."
[First Meeting: Fei Yao]
After sensing the aura of Hei, his familiar who had gone missing in an accident fourteen years ago, Fei Yao kept tracking it and narrowing down its location until he finally pinpointed a specific person.
What Fei Yao hadn't expected was that the woman in her ID photo, who looked as graceful as an orchid, pure as frost, and quietly elegant, would turn out to be unexpectedly... brave. Or perhaps it was more accurate to say she had no common sense.
For example, when faced with a dangerous request from a strange man hiding in the bushes, she actually crouched down, picked up a small stone from the ground, cut her wrist, and held it out to him...
[Everyday Bluntness: A Little Scene]
Jian Yue decided what to make for dinner from the ingredients Fei Yao had bought.
Only while tidying up did she realize that she habitually added a little minced garlic to her dishes for flavor. Then she remembered that Fei Yao always managed to finish every last bite.
Not one to beat around the bush, Jian Yue called out to him.
Fei Yao answered and walked into the kitchen.
Jian Yue looked up at him. "Can vampires eat garlic?"
Fei Yao touched his cheek with his index finger and nodded. "Sure."
Jian Yue blinked, picked up the leftover raw garlic from the stove, and held it out to him.
Fei Yao tilted his head and smiled. "...Hm?"
He seemed completely unaffected.
It wasn't until he left the kitchen that a muffled retching sound came from the balcony.
Jian Yue: "..."
[A sunny, easygoing vampire urban legend who seems to fit right into human society but is fiercely protective of his partner x A natural, free-spirited older woman who looks pure and coolly distant but never acts according to common sense]
One-on-one romance, plus one side couple. Happy ending, sweet.
1. It's been a long time since I wrote a straight romance. I'm revisiting the little daydreams I had as a teenager, sitting in class and staring out the window (don't follow my example; pay attention in class, okay? 0v0). I've also always wanted to create a romantic adventure story about vampires, because I absolutely love them 0v0. So this time, I finally decided to go for it.
2. [Important point] Because of my personal preferences, the vampires in my stories generally aren't too involved with the family powers behind them. That's more than I can bear: family infighting, interference in relationships, and all that pressure are just too heavy = =. So the story will have little to do with family struggles.
3. Everything in this story is fictional. Any resemblance to real people or events is purely coincidental, and the characters' views do not represent the author's.
4. I'm still the same author who likes trying new things. Whether we meet is up to fate. If it's not for you, please don't be rude. May the world be at peace and everyone be happy.
5. If you enjoy my work, feel free to add it to your favorites!
Note: This preview blurb was written on July 5, 2023. I don't expect it to change much.
Theme: Wandering alone through an empty garden, then meeting you
