I Do Research on a Sky Island

Hua Chengxia is a graduate student in a major animal research program, wholeheartedly devoted to her thesis project: an adorable gene-edited rabbit.

Who could have guessed that one day, the tiger her junior labmate was studying next door would eat her rabbit?

Hua Chengxia: I can put up with anything, but not this!

Heartbroken and downcast, Hua Chengxia finds a fun little game: Sky Island Research.

She has a wonderful time raising little animals in the game.

Until one day, she sees a news report.

"We have a report from the scene: these flying, big-eared rabbits seem to be very friendly toward humans. Good heavens! This adorable rabbit has neutralized a Calamity Node!"

Hua Chengxia silently looks at the rabbit in her game, then at the news report.

Wait, what is going on?

[This is a fanfiction based on the test server game Codename: Star Shepherd, titled Researching on a Sky Island. Any similarities are purely coincidental. All species are based on those already in the game. Permission has been granted to write game fanfiction.

Also: The game is really fun, but the test has ended, hahaha. Waiting for the public release! (If you can't picture what the little animals look like from the story, you can check out Weibo to see them.)]

Theme: Little animals are so adorable!
