A story of ruthless possession. Note left on 2023.7.04

Wen Chan was born into the prestigious Duke of Wen's family, a clan of generations of high-ranking officials. She had a lovely, delicate face and married Xiao Shun, the third son of the current Liang dynasty's imperial Xiao family and Prince Yu. After their wedding, she and her husband were deeply affectionate and lived in perfect harmony. They even had a son together.

Whether as the duke's eldest daughter or as Prince Yu's consort, her life should have been comfortable and smooth, if not for the Xiao dynasty teetering on the brink of collapse.

The leader of the rebel army, a bandit by birth and the greatest traitor under heaven, entered Xijing and toppled the Xiao family's dynasty, proclaiming himself emperor. In a single night, Wen Chan's life changed completely.

Her husband fled to Jiangnan, hoping to divide the realm with Jiang Xing along the river and find an opportunity to restore the Xiao dynasty. But when he escaped, he left behind his consort and their young son.

The rebels wanted to kill her son as an offering to their banners. They tormented Wen Chan, Prince Yu's consort, in every way to humiliate her husband, Xiao Shun.

Just as she had lost all hope and was about to take her own life, Jiang Xing appeared. He dismissed everyone else and gripped her chin.

"If Madam wants to protect her child, all it takes is one word from Me. Since you have something to ask of Me, Madam should know what to do."

Thinking of her son, who was not yet three, Wen Chan shed tears and bowed her head. "I am willing to serve Your Majesty at your side. I only ask that Your Majesty spare my son."

The heroine remarries and has a child; the hero has a consort. The heroine is not a virgin, but the hero is. The hero is deeply faithful.

Extremely melodramatic.

Theme: Love is not all there is to life.
