Picking a Green Plum to Protect in My Hand

Tang Mu Yu's childhood friends all know that, despite being the powerful heir to Qinggang City's Harbor Industry Group, he has had a little rose in his heart since childhood: someone he has always loved but could never win over, someone he is afraid to approach yet can't bear to leave alone.

One day, the young masters of wealthy families could no longer contain their curiosity and asked how things were going.

They saw the heir Tang Mu Yu holding a wineglass in one hand, his eyes hazy and defeated. "It took me a lot of effort just to add her on WeChat. By my count, I've sent her around thirty or forty messages by now."

"And then?" his friends asked, full of curiosity.

"All I got back were five 'Mm's."

"..."

In a cramped rental apartment, Wen Rongyue finally calmly told her best friend about the youthful love that had begun but never gone anywhere, after being pressed for details.

She said, "I've never blamed him, really."

Her best friend jumped to her feet and slapped the table. "Then go tell him!"

Wen Rongyue said, "It's too late. He's already engaged."

Her best friend hugged her and cried in sympathy. "Yueyue, you deserve someone better!"

But deep down, Wen Rongyue calmly thought, "To me, no one could ever be better."

The eligible bachelor Tang Mu Yu was utterly baffled. "Who did you say was engaged?"
