This Snow, the Last Sigh Before Winter Ends

Ryoma may seem cocky and arrogant, but he's really just a somewhat awkward kid. Who knows what he'll be like in a few years? Still, I imagine he'll never hide his sharp edge. He can shoot someone a disdainful sidelong glance, and keep muttering "Mada mada dane." He's the genuine article, a prince who can get away with anything.

Sakuno really isn't a particularly distinctive girl. But her kindness and gentleness are precisely what she should be proud of, and lacking confidence in herself isn't some terrible flaw. A good girl isn't someone to worship, but someone for the right person to love.

Ryoma and Sakuno.

They're not an odd pairing.

They're a prince and Cinderella.

And isn't that exactly the kind of story in every hit soap opera these days?

Only,

this prince is holding Cinderella's glass slipper without realizing it;

while Cinderella treats the one on her own foot as if it were invisible.

A slow-witted prince and an insecure Cinderella.

Their personalities are as far apart as the North and South Poles, night and day, always moving in opposite directions, but perhaps that makes them all the more suited to each other.

So let them meet in this desolate season.

Let the prince become a little less coldhearted, and let Cinderella overcome some of her flaws.

In the cold, even a little warmth can make you so happy it knocks you out. That's what I believe.
