Mokosha thought she would spend her whole life researching alongside her "mother" in their little laboratory. But after she went into hibernation one time, her mother, who had taught her how to fit into human society, quietly left, leaving behind only the identity documents and money she needed to enroll at the Akademiya.

Holding the enrollment documents that had already been prepared, she looked around. The familiar laboratory felt so empty that her CPU was buzzing.

Well, until Mother comes back, she would have to fend for herself and do her best to play the part of a human.

She also needed to find some suitable subjects of observation and connect them to the theories in her books.

As for a subject... A-Hat, the student who always wore such a conspicuous hat, seemed like a good choice.

They were both from the Rtawahist Darshan, so they were at least familiar faces. Though he was always on his own, he seemed kindhearted and had a complex human side, making him an absolutely excellent subject of observation.

Nodding to herself, Mokosha promptly created a new folder in her database. She named it... "A-Hat Observation Log."

So how had she managed to pick the one nonhuman out of a crowd of humans so accurately?

Even after learning the truth of her own origins, Mokosha still wondered about that. But she had never regretted her choice, because

"Shut up."

4. The male lead is A-Hat. The story doesn't involve his identity as Scaramouche; he's simply A-Hat, a student at the Akademiya.
