Elynos scoffed. "Have I lost my mind? What's lovable about humans? And what's with that masculine pronoun?"

...Several centuries passed. When he finally awoke from his long slumber, the first thing Elynos saw was a young human man.

In an age when all races enjoyed equal rights to life, the long-lived races who awoke from their centuries-long slumber had become a social problem that gave every nation a headache. These "Sleeping Beauties" had no idea how the laws had changed over the centuries, and might grab a human off the street for a snack at any moment.

Joshel, a new recruit at the Department of Affairs for Managing Sleeping Beings, discovered an awakened vampire in his new home.

The good news was that the vampire hadn't bitten him and drained him dry. The bad news was that the department was short-staffed, so the job of looking after Elynos fell to him, a weak, helpless, and entirely hapless human. In other words, the two of them would be living together for a while.

Having already gotten a taste of the vampire's aloof and unsociable nature, everyone at the department mourned Joshel in advance, preparing to lose their new colleague: a human and a vampire living together was a terrible idea. One day, he might end up a dried-out husk.

But everyone soon realized that things were racing in the exact opposite direction. They never saw the recruitment notice for someone to look after the vampire. All they saw was the vampire trailing Joshel everywhere, always wearing a cold expression, never saying a word, and always doing whatever Joshel asked. From grocery shopping, cooking, and washing dishes to rescuing people from a horde of undead and beating up a wizard who had designs on Joshel until he was barely alive...

When his coworkers, suspecting something was going on between them, confronted him, Joshel slung an arm over Elynos's shoulder. "Dating? How could that be? Are you saying Elynos likes me?"

Elynos: "..." (His expression remained cold as he tugged at the corner of his mouth.) "Of course not."

Joshel: "Right? We're just really good friends!"

Everyone: "...As long as you're happy."

At last, the department determined that Elynos had adapted to life in the modern age and no longer needed looking after. Joshel cheerfully ran off with the assessment report to find the vampire, only to see Elynos, who rarely showed any emotion, quickly darken his expression.

Elynos: "This thing rates me according to my danger level, right? If I attack a human, I fail?"

Joshel: "Yes. And thanks to you, you've never... Huh? Wh-what?! Wait, don't bite my neck!"

My take on Western fantasy. I will never waver in my commitment to sweet romance. Aloof, tsundere, and ridiculously powerful vampire x frank, cheerful human apothecary. The romance is an extremely slow burn, so consider this your warning.

You Feiyu has a battered tarot deck.

All but one of its twenty-two cards have gone missing. The lone Fool remains, while the other twenty-one have become "anomalies" lurking in different worldlines, each capable of destroying everything.

You Feiyu's task is to infiltrate different worlds, use the divination powers of his incomplete tarot deck to track down these "anomalies," and retrieve and seal them.

At first, everything goes smoothly. But as You Feiyu retrieves more and more cards, his divinations grow increasingly chaotic, as if the tarot deck itself has fallen into discord...

World One: "Death," the Soul-Reaping Impermanence.

Divination: High-risk target. You will face chains and hell.

You Feiyu: I can even travel between worlds. What kind of hell could possibly hold me? Let's see!

And so You Feiyu roamed the city at night, searching for the black figure that inspired terror in all who heard of him, as if he had come straight from the underworld. One stormy night, the Impermanence stood before him, chains in hand.

"Follow me to hell." The Impermanence's expression was cold, and his icy chains already coiled around You Feiyu's ankle. "A home has been prepared for you there. There will be no one else, and I will watch over you for eternity."

You Feiyu, ready to fight tooth and nail: "...Is that a battle cry, or are you confessing your love to me?"

The Impermanence: "..."

You Feiyu: "By the way, Mr. Impermanence, I saw you blush."

World Two: "The Tower," the Princess of Calamity.

Divination: Before you are imprisoned in the tower for all eternity, save %%#@#* kill him first.

You Feiyu: ...? Is the Tower even more dangerous than Death? And why does the princess use "he" as a pronoun?

He raced across the ruins ravaged by natural disasters, finally reaching a tower on the verge of collapse. A stunning "princess," so beautiful he seemed otherworldly, looked down at his tiny figure from above.

You Feiyu's theatrical side took over. He waved frantically at the top of the tower. "Princess, princess, I'm the prince who came to save you! Let down your long hair so I can climb up!"

The "princess" stared at him coldly. Thorny vines grew from the tower and stretched down, landing in front of You Feiyu.

Before You Feiyu could grab the vines, the "Death" card in his arms materialized as a phantom. Holding a scythe, he chopped every last vine to pieces.

You Feiyu: ? No, what is going on?

World Three: "The Devil," a bloodthirsty succubus. Divination: ????

World Four: "The Sun," a three-legged Golden Crow. Divination: #@￥&*#...

You Feiyu stared blankly at a jumble of nonsense. Could my good looks have finally thrown fate off course?!

The truth was actually this:

"The Tower": Heh. Why would I help my wife find another love rival? What, am I an idiot?

"Death": ...Feiyu is mine. He can't look for anyone else.

"The Sun": Agreed.

He traveled through one world after another, until only the "Magician" and the "Lovers" remained. And yet...

He couldn't find them. He just couldn't find them. Exhausted and frustrated, You Feiyu tossed away the cards. "I'm done!"

Among the cards scattered across the floor, a familiar yet strange figure appeared, embracing him with a smile and a longing as profound as the night.

"You're done? But I've been waiting for you for so long..."

In his hand, the "Magician" and "Lovers" cards shone brilliantly.
