Important Notice:
This novel has been permanently discontinued due to a crossover incident between Detective Conan and Cabinet Academy. However, since it was the author's first work and holds special meaning to them, it has not been locked. Readers who have clicked in for whatever reason are advised to proceed with caution. (It may have appeared in related sections because it was marked complete. The author strangely noticed that the number of readers had increased over the past few days, and only realized after friends pointed it out that a notice should be posted.)
Here, I apologize to all the readers who accidentally clicked into this novel over the past few days because of the author's irresponsibility, only to find that they couldn't read a proper ending.
After Qiu Yusheng accidentally slept himself to death, he met a System.
Qiu Yusheng: ? So I'm not dead?
System: Dear Host, I am the "Maintain World Stability" System. Congratulations on being selected to team up with an intelligent System like me, create secret identities, and save the world!
Qiu Yusheng: ! Really? But based on my years of anime experience, how do I know you're not an evil system?
System: First, we're a legitimate organization. Second, Host, think carefully: what do you have that anyone would want to scheme against you for?
Qiu Yusheng: *thoughtful.jpg* I guess that's true. I don't have any talents, so why did you pick me?
System: Of course it's because you're special, Host! Besides, our System doesn't need its Host to have any particular talent. As long as you're here, your secret identities will carry you!
Qiu Yusheng: *shocked.jpg* Isn't that just living off someone else?
System: Just tell me, are you going to take the free ride or not?
Qiu Yusheng: Secret identities, I'll just lie back and let them carry me.jpg
[Spring Sunshine: Chun Chaoze]
Cherry blossoms scatter like rain in spring. In the graduation photo, a black-haired police academy student stands with five friends, the clear blue sky reflected in his sky-blue eyes.
Chun Chaoze (determined): If I hide it well enough, the ICU won't catch up with me.
[Birds Between the Clouds: Qiu Yuan Luoyun]
At a sealed-off crime scene, a young detective confidently lays out his deductions. His lake-blue eyes see through every facet of human nature.
Qiu Yuan Luoyun (confident): I'm the best detective!
[Starlight in the Dark: Xu Fang Xinli]
A gray-black cat slips silently through streets and alleys, searching for a past known to no one. It hides in the darkness, always ready to strike a fatal blow, its gray-blue eyes like dazzling sparks.
Xu Fang Xinli (innocent): Meow?
[Winter Without Light: Dan Yu Wuming]
A man dressed all in black toys with a dagger. His sharply tilted catlike eyes brim with deep malice as he smiles and shakes the blood from the blade.
Dan Yu Wuming (smiling): Hello.
Qiu Ben Yusheng (Qiu Yusheng): System, why do my secret identities seem kind of pitiful?
System: Host, have you heard of "beautiful, strong, and tragic"? A secret identity has to be both beautiful and tragic to be strong. That makes it easier for them to carry you!
Qiu Ben Yusheng (Qiu Yusheng): That makes so much sense! *suddenly enlightened.jpg*
System: This generation of Hosts is hopeless.jpg
Please note:
1. This is not a typical secret identity story. The identities will be exposed (but not entirely), and it's something of an ensemble story.
2. This is my first crossover fanfic. I started on a whim with no outline, and my writing is amateurish. The characters belong to the original works; any OOC behavior is my fault. I'll try not to put the original characters through too much, but some will get hurt, and there are lots of personal additions. All the fight scenes are made up, so don't scrutinize them.
3. If there are any obvious factual errors, don't ask. The author isn't Japanese. (Feel free to point out mistakes, and I'll try to fix them.) I picked the Japanese names at random from a Chinese-Japanese dictionary, so don't read too much into them or mention in the comments that they share a name with someone else.
4. Constructive suggestions are welcome, rude criticism is not. I don't accept writing advice. The author has their own ideas and pace, so if you want to argue, go write it your own way.
5. If you don't like it, please leave quietly. Don't pollute the comments section.
6. If you don't understand the plot, feel free to ask questions. I'll answer when I see them.
7. Some secret identities are pure black. They'll betray others for their own benefit by the end, and they'll do plenty of evil along the way. No redemption arc!
8. There are many original characters and plotlines.
Addendum 9: I didn't think too hard about the protagonist's name at first. Later, after seeing a bunch of fanfic characters with the same name, I realized something was off and looked into it. Japanese names have a lot of rules, but I'd already written half the chapters, and I was too lazy to change it. Just bear with it. We're all Chinese, after all, and Chinese people should have Chinese-style names. (The only downside is that people who know Japanese will probably find the protagonist's name painful to look at, though I did carefully research the surname.)
Addendum 10: So, don't start writing on a whim. Make sure you research things first.
Another addendum, 11: Someone suggested I mention this, so here goes: This novel was inspired by the great Tuzi's "A Thousand Layers of Secret Identity." Some readers may get a sense of deja vu, but as you read further, you'll see that this story's characters and plot are different from theirs. If you'd like a more detailed explanation, see my reply to Hua Yao in Chapter 48 (if you don't mind spoilers).
Theme: Light and shadow go hand in hand.
Madam Chapter 2 Are there Asazawa Jinpei and the others? I've been looking forward to it for a long time [Spread flowers]
Ah, does Jingguang want to eat a bento? [Split]
Why is the next chapter locked?
Ding~Business fluid blessing update is stress-free!
[Spread flowers] Madam, I'm back again. Is Asawa coming out soon?
Is this the legendary monthly update? [Fear]
It doesn't matter, as long as the author is great and you don't give up, that's fine
