[Synopsis]
Only after I died did I learn what kind of world I lived in. A special group known as jujutsu sorcerers fought monsters born from humanity's negative emotions to protect ordinary people. People like me, with no powers, were monkeys, as curse users derisively called us; toys for cursed spirits to play with; pawns at the front of schemers' chessboards. Whether we lived or died was entirely up to the strong.
Me: Thanks for asking. I died peacefully. In my next life, I hope I don't end up in this dogshit world where people aren't treated like people.
The good news: My wish came true, and I was reborn in another world.
The bad news: I got placed on the wrong track, and in this life I'm still a cannon-fodder nobody.
Me: At last, my heart can stop hanging in suspense :D
From the start, I was in a human experimentation facility. The researchers called me the failed product of an experiment to create a god, then tossed me into the furnace where they disposed of failed subjects, claiming the only value I had left was as fuel to sustain Arahabaki.
Before me were grotesque mutants, spraying blood everywhere. Behind me, the researchers coldly told me to die. I clenched my fist and used the weakling's useless ability he had mocked me for to smash his head in with one punch.
Later, after kicking the Hunting Dogs, punching the Port Mafia, and reaching the highest point in Yokohama, a reporter asked me what had turned me from a weakling into a powerhouse.
Me (thinking): At first, I just wanted to survive in this world.
