Later, Ji Wenjing learned that Fu Wenshu was the Empire's strongest officer. While he had been living in luxury, drunk on pleasure, Fu Wenshu had been risking his life on the battlefield. Half of his gentle face had been soaked in blood, like a jade Bodhisattva drenched in blood, striking fear into countless enemies.
Because of a bet, Ji Wenjing pursued Fu Wenshu relentlessly. The Empire's strongest omega officer willingly married the unreliable alpha heir of the Ji family.
But no secret can stay hidden forever. After drinking one night, Ji Wenjing let the truth slip. While his group of good-for-nothing friends jeered, Fu Wenshu silently left the old family home and went alone to the battlefield. During that battle, Ji Wenjing lost his and Fu Wenshu's first child, and Fu Wenshu's body was left unable to bear children again.
The gulf between them grew wider and wider. Ji Wenjing knew he had to atone, and set out on his own journey to do so.
