The puppet is beautiful, but lacks a sincere heart.
Scaramouche feels nothing for anyone. To the ordinary people who look up to him, he is a poisonous rose, beautiful but impossible to reach.
But everything changed after he met Aether...
At Nahida’s request, Scaramouche took over a case involving the “Heart-Stealing Phantom.” On his way there, he rescued Aether, who was being pursued by the Abyss.
He realized Aether wasn’t an ordinary beggar, but only later discovered that Aether really was the “Heart-Stealing Phantom.”

Aether deceived Scaramouche, and with Aether’s careful planning, Scaramouche lost his memories and became Aether’s plaything. As they spent time together, Scaramouche fell in love with him without realizing it.
“Like a pure white puppet, he was like a reflection in a mirror, until the one man who could wind the clockwork in his heart came along.”
During a trial, Scaramouche learned the whole truth.
Just when he thought he could let everything go, the Abyss’s gates suddenly appeared, and Aether was captured by the Abyss, becoming a “puppet” controlled by someone else.
Having experienced emotion, Scaramouche was no longer a puppet. He became a self-governing weapon of war, belonging to the world alone, and set out to destroy the Abyss.
Throughout this journey, Scaramouche had only one goal: to find Aether, and...
save him.
But later, Scaramouche learned that he was the one Aether had saved all along.
