I Transmigrated into a Prince and Just Want to Lie Flat

As a post-00s worker, Li Chao suddenly died at his desk. When he opened his eyes, he had transmigrated into the Empress's womb. He vaguely heard an imperial physician examine the Empress and say, “It's a princess.”

Then a calm voice asked, “Are you certain?”

The imperial physician replied, “I wouldn't dare make a definitive claim.”

Li Chao questioned his entire existence. Had he changed sex? Something felt wrong.

So, in order to figure out whether he had male anatomy, he started doing 360-degree Thomas the Tank Engine spins, keeping the Empress awake for three days. In the end, he reached a conclusion: Oh, he was a boy. The imperial physician had gotten it wrong. What an incompetent doctor.

Li Chao's still-unopened little eyes closed again as he settled down to “rest and build up his strength” in the Empress's womb.

Once word spread that the Empress was carrying a princess, the harem, which had been simmering with intrigue, gradually quieted down.

A few months passed, and Li Chao slowly learned about what was going on in the harem. Although he was still in the Empress's womb, the awkward truth was that his birth mother already had an adopted son, the Crown Prince. She had been chosen as Empress through an alliance of several factions, while her father was merely an unremarkable official at the Court of Judicial Review, and had only risen to his position with the support of the Crown Prince's maternal family.

The day of the birth arrived without incident. It was a sunny day, and the sun was especially bright. The concubines waited outside the door, listening to the Empress's agonized cries. Aside from being a little frightened by the sounds, they all felt perfectly calm and thought the weather was lovely. After all, it was going to be a princess either way.

Then a dreadful cry rang out from within. The midwife came out holding the baby, her face full of shock, delight, and fear. She dropped to her knees. “The Empress, the Empress has given birth! It's a little prince!”

On that day, before even opening his eyes, Lu Chao felt a light brighter than the sun. He thought to himself, “Wow, is the weather really this nice today?”
