The County Magistrate / The Chubby Guy

The chubby guy is the only son of a wealthy family in the county. His whole family dotes on him, and he has grown up chubby and cheerful.

His maternal grandmother's family has several other young men who are jealous of him. They've repeatedly called him fat to his face, saying he's fat and ugly, with rolls of flesh everywhere.

The chubby guy is deeply insecure and starts dieting. Later, he faints from hunger. His family calls in a doctor, who realizes he's been starving himself and orders him to stop trying to lose weight.

Later, someone comes to ask for the chubby guy's hand in marriage. Thinking he's reached the right age to find a match, his family arranges for the two to meet.

But the man is after the chubby guy's family's money. He deliberately puts him down, saying that no one else would marry someone as fat as him, and that he should hurry up and lose weight because looking at him turns his stomach.

The chubby guy is hurt and becomes even more insecure.

Then one day, a young, handsome scholar tells him, "I'm in love with you."

The chubby guy refuses to believe him, thinking someone sent him to make fun of him, and runs away.

Lin Yixi goes to take up a post as county magistrate and meets a young man whom he falls in love with at first sight.

(A little scene)

The chubby guy: I don't believe you really like me!

Lin Yixi, flustered: Why won't you believe me?

The chubby guy: Don't you think I'm ugly? Doesn't my weight put you off?

Lin Yixi: You're adorable.

To prove that he really doesn't mind, Lin Yixi immediately wraps his arms around the chubby guy and tries to lift him. But he forgets that he's a frail scholar with no strength to even truss a chicken, and can't lift him at all.

The chubby guy: ... (He runs away crying, knowing the man was only trying to humiliate him.)

Lin Yixi doesn't chase after him. He practices hard every day!

A month later, Lin Yixi goes to see the chubby guy.

The chubby guy: Why are you here again? Are you going to humiliate me some more?

Lin Yixi says nothing. He simply lifts the chubby guy into his arms, then tells him, "I really do like you."

The chubby guy: ! (blushing)

Lin Yixi truly thinks the chubby guy is so, so adorable. His chin is round and soft, his cheeks are plump and rosy, and every inch of him is cute. He's as soft and cuddly as a ball of glutinous rice.
