Synopsis
Also known as: "On the Way to Deliver Invitations, I Went to the Ghost Bamboo Forest and Found My Senior Brother's Dead Wife, Which Led to a Bloody Case" and "I Found My Senior Brother by Accident, and Also Found Myself a Man"
Reliable beauty uke × a loyal dog of an attack who likes to hide
A fake rekindled romance (because there was never a breakup in the first place)
Qianhuang Mountain Sect will host the next Dao Discussion Conference. By their master's command, Jin Yunzhou and his senior brother Qiu Yunshu travel along the route from Qianhuang Mountain to Qin Mountain, delivering invitations to sects and cultivating clans for next spring's Dao Discussion Conference, held once every ten years, while also gaining experience. When they reach their final stop, Qinshan City, what had been an ordinary training trip becomes anything but.
They unexpectedly learn that the "Ghost Bamboo Forest," supposedly an ideal place to live in seclusion, has become a haunt for ghosts and monsters. The young and impetuous decide to venture into this sinister place. But once inside, Jin Yunzhou isn't so sure anymore. Is it really the work of ghosts and monsters?
Three years after they parted, they meet again completely unprepared. Are they friends or enemies?
"You..." At the sound of that voice, Jin Yunzhou's heart tightened. He opened his mouth to call out and get a look at him. No matter how many questions he had, they could all wait. But before he could say a word, the man headed straight for the thatched hut. Jin Yunzhou watched him go.
Inside the hut, Ling Woyu's palms were sweating with nerves. He still wasn't ready to face Jin Yunzhou. After working up the courage, he opened the door, only to find no one there.
Where's my wife? My very large wife?
Qinshan City is hiding deadly dangers. Outside the city, the Breath-Tracking Compass had shown no reaction at all to the so-called Ghost Bamboo Forest, where over a hundred cultivators had supposedly disappeared. But the moment they enter the city limits, it spins like a mad dog with its tail stepped on, the needle nearly flying off the dial. A fleeting sob as they enter the city lord's residence, and a female city lord who is all smiles, warm and gracious; a bustling marketplace, and a butcher chopping bones in the middle of the night; the eerie green and blood-red glow atop the city's landmark, the Immortal Arrival Pagoda, that sends chills down your spine...
So where are the monsters and demons? In this Ghost Bamboo Forest, or in Qinshan City?
At the final stop on his invitation-delivery journey, Jin Yunzhou uncovers a shocking secret that rocks the cultivation world.
The story includes quite a few flashbacks.
Inspired by a dream I had on November 14, 2022.
The uke's feelings for his senior brother are admiration and respect.
I'm a sucker for melodrama, and I love melodrama.
My writing still needs work. Please read kindly, and thank you for reading.

Premise: This isn't about vanquishing demons for the sake of justice, but punishing the wicked and eradicating evil
