Truthfully, Hu Kankan really did think of Chen Zong as nothing more than a casual fling.
When she quit and took off, she didn't even say goodbye.
Later, Chen Zong was caught in an armed attack in Africa.
At the brink of life and death, the only thing that came to mind was the figure he hadn't seen in four years.
That's when he realized he couldn't let her go. He hadn't moved on. He called it a fleeting affair, but kept booking and canceling flights, then booking them again, wishing he could fly back home and lock the two of them together so neither could run away.

Hu Kankan thought her visual hallucinations had come back.
She saw her ex-boyfriend at a bar, and she also saw a fluffy tail behind his waist.
The tail was a born rebel.
When Chen Zong said, "I'm just passing by," it excitedly wound around Hu Kankan's wrist.
When Chen Zong said, "Don't mind me," it drooped into a sulky ball and rubbed against Hu Kankan's stomach.
Unable to shake the tail, Hu Kankan packed up and ran.
Chen Zong was abandoned once again and immediately went into a panic, chasing after her like a ghost.
"You're avoiding me."
"That's twice now."

Chen Zong discovered that he could feel it when Hu Kankan touched him.
Oh, he meant his tail.
Hu Kankan discovered that touching Chen Zong's tail made him arch his back.
When she asked him about it, all he said was that he felt itchy.
One night, Chen Zong stood outside her room with his collar loosened, while Hu Kankan took off her bracelet and washed her hands three times.
