The historical romance The Stolen Bride is currently being serialized in my author page. Possessive coercion and a battle among suitors. Come follow along!
[Cheerful little ray of sunshine & gentle, powerful sickly beauty, happy ending]
Xu Chuchu transmigrates into an old-fashioned, melodramatic novel.
In the book, the hero, Zhao Huaijing, is noble-born and exceptionally handsome. He should be a refined gentleman, but rumors say he is violent and ruthless, the "Jade-Faced Yama" who kills without blinking.
This cold-hearted man loves only one person: the heroine, Shen Xinyue, his childhood sweetheart. For her sake, he even marries a notorious concubine-born daughter of the marquis's household, because the blood from her heart is the medicine needed to save the woman he loves.
Once the heroine recovers, his unfortunate wife meets her end with a sword through the heart.
As it happens, Xu Chuchu is the hero's doomed wife.
Freshly transmigrated, Xu Chuchu wants to curse.
Fortunately, the wedding hasn't taken place yet. She immediately packs up and runs.
Whoever wants a husband like that can have him. She certainly doesn't!
Her attempt to flee the wedding fails, and she falls into the hands of bandits. A handsome official arrives on orders to suppress them, and Xu Chuchu clings to him, crying and sniffling.
But why does this man look a little familiar?
He looks down at her, his peach-blossom eyes smiling with amusement. "Your Highness, was running away from your wedding fun?"
Xu Chuchu freezes in shock!
*
After the wedding, Xu Chuchu knows how to bend without breaking. She seems to accept her fate, but secretly waits for a chance to divorce him. So...
On their wedding night, she swears to the heavens: "Your Highness, don't worry. I would never dare covet even the slightest bit of you, much less come between you and Shen Xinyue."
When Shen Xinyue makes covert provocations, Xu Chuchu meets them all, then lies flat and gives up.
What else can she do? She's just a stepping stone on the leads' path to love.
But why is the hero different from the one in the book?
For instance, after bathing, his hair hangs damp over his shoulders, his clothes loosely open. His cool, pale fingers lift her chin. "Why pretend to be so coy, Your Highness?"
Or when blood stains a white handkerchief, a trace of it still at the corner of his lips, he lifts his pale, handsome face and gazes at her aggrievedly. "Why can't you show me a little concern, Your Highness?"
Xu Chuchu: ...
Can someone tell her who has had their soul replaced: her, or Zhao Huaijing?
At first, Zhao Huaijing married Xu Chuchu simply to play along with a scheme. He only wanted the blood from her heart.
But as time went by, he wished he could cut out his own heart and offer it to her.
He bore the weight of hatred, walking along the edge of an abyss, where one wrong step would mean utter ruin. He wanted to protect her, but only pushed her farther and farther away.
He couldn't understand why she feared him.
Later, beneath the city gate, she collapsed before him. Her scarlet blood blurred his vision, and for the first time, the man who was always composed and calm lost all reason.
Reader's Notes:
1. Fictional setting, one-on-one romance, both leads sexually inexperienced, happy ending.
2. The hero isn't a scumbag, and both leads are sexually and emotionally faithful.
Blurb for the next book, The Stolen Bride:
[Possessive coercion, battle among suitors, happy ending]
Zhou Yuan is the Cao family's adopted daughter, and she and her fiance, Cao Changqing, are deeply in love.
Cao Changqing is a prodigy who made a name for himself at a young age, and he treats her with the utmost tenderness.
Zhou Yuan happily follows her fiance to the capital for the imperial examinations, waiting for him to pass so he can marry her in grand style. But once they reach the capital, everything changes.
Shen Qingyan, the emperor's eldest grandson, is just twenty years old, with an imperial bearing and a handsome, dashing air.
Everyone in the capital says the residence of the emperor's eldest grandson is full of beautiful women, but nobody knows that he has been searching for a girl for ten years.
At long last, he finds a trace of her, only to discover that she has completely forgotten him and is pleading with him on behalf of the man she loves.
Shen Qingyan scoffs, then takes the opportunity to keep her by his side.
He carefully lays his plans, never expecting the ungrateful young woman to keep saying, "Your Highness has been so kind. Brother Changqing will surely repay you someday. Brother Changqing and I are joined by our parents' wishes and the matchmaker's word..."
Look at that. He was helping her, yet she acts as if she has nothing to do with him.
Shen Qingyan laughs coldly. Though rage surges in his heart, the words he lets slip are as indulgent as ever: "What, Yuan'er, do you want to marry him and make me your secret lover?"
Theme: Be the protagonist of your own world.
It's not that I'm really convinced by the male lead. Is he so conniving with the man surnamed Shen? The heroine is so aggrieved and still endures it? I was so angry when I saw this. Really isolated. I want to eat it and it will be as disgusting as ever
This Shen is really unreasonable. For Shen to marry, for Shen to scold the heroine, it's up to you to say what you want, even though you know Shen is being careful, you still protect her. I didn't believe in the heroine during the pollen incident. I kept raising her, even if I took care of her, there was no need to take care of her in this way. I feel very uncomfortable in all aspects of Shen's affairs and maintenance.
Ahhhhh, I'm so angry.
I think the heroine is a bit in the way. If her husband doesn't rebel or is cruel, both of them will die.
Wow wow, this chapter smells so good! I'm just afraid it's not a needle, but a mallet, haha!
Wow, on the table... Shashaha~, so exciting
It looks great. When will Madam publish a new article? So looking forward to it
Nice, keep reading your new posts.
Sprinkle flowers~ The ending is very happy! Looking forward to the next one!
Even now, when I think about the way the male protagonist treated the female protagonist, I still feel uneasy.
