An official in the court impeaches the Minister of Rites for accepting bribes.
Overnight, rumors spread everywhere, and everyone has a different story.
Shen Wei goes from being the cherished daughter of the Minister of Rites to a prisoner. To clear her father's name, she seeks out He Zhoushu, the official in charge of the case.
He Zhoushu is an upright man. Though young, he was personally appointed by the emperor as a Junior Minister of the Court of Judicial Review.
When they meet, he sits in the hall, idly playing with a stick of sandalwood incense. "Why should I help you?"
