Fu Yugou drank his medicine.

But when Fu Yugou spent time with her, the comments turned on her: [Poor cannon fodder. Her funeral meal's already booked.]

[I bet she won't make it past episode three.]

Xue Yao, who had already made it through six episodes: ... She suspected the comments had gone crazy.

Fu Yugou made a name for himself as a young man, then gradually lost his five senses and fell from his pedestal. Though surrounded by wolves, everyone thought he was gentle and pure-hearted. They put him on a pedestal, longing for his compassion and pity. Few knew that he was cold by nature, a complete and utter madman.

Cold, sick, and unable to understand love.

Later, he looked down at Xue Yao and hid a small fragment of his finger bone inside her jade pendant. "You won't leave me, will you?"

Bonus scene:

After Wen Niao was reborn, the next time she saw Fu Yugou was at Lingyun Terrace. In her memory, by this point Fu Yugou had already had his body taken over by an evil ghost.

She never expected to see the young man standing beneath the pavilion in a white ceremonial robe, holding a palace lantern and apparently speaking to someone. When he noticed her, the shadow disappeared in an instant.

He turned to look at her, his eyes calm and cool, like still water.

Wen Niao hurriedly hid, still shaken. But she had seen clearly: that shadow was the very ghost that had taken over his body.

The young immortal lord, dressed in ceremonial robes, emerged from a sea of corpses drenched in blood. Ghostly flames flickered around him as he carried a lantern and came looking for her.

Jiang Wei huddled into a ball and looked up at him.

In this illusion, the gentle facade he always wore was torn to shreds. "Why are you afraid? Didn't you say you liked me?"
