In 3046, a gigantic "deity" appeared above Earth. With lowered eyes, beautiful and compassionate, it gazed down at the many facets of humanity for a long while before slowly speaking. "I declare that all of humanity has entered the apocalypse."
Then it closed its eyes, and a catastrophe swept over humankind in an instant.
Cold waves, scorching heat, and inhuman monsters advanced one after another. Skulls that must not be looked at devoured human bones. Elves whose songs must not be heard ate human flesh. Dead wax figures silently grew tentacles at night. Streetlights flickered on and off. Listen, who's speaking?
[The wealthy upper class fled to another planet, while those left behind were forced to defend their home.] [Meanwhile, under the influence of an unknown factor, rare ability users appeared among the people on the new planet.]
This era came to be known as the New Calendar.
Chu Tang, abandoned on Earth, hated the New Calendar with all her heart. One of the rarest psychic ability users in both worlds combined, she made destroying the inhuman creatures her life's mission.
Most psychic ability users had to spend their entire lives carefully keeping their fragile nerves in check. Chu Tang was different. She was already crazy to begin with.
Chu Tang: As long as I go crazy first, no one can drive me crazy!
Oh, right. As for that Earth Rescue Team...
Ha. They're just a bunch of useless people from the new planet.
"Useless person" Song Wenjing: ? Wait, I'm different from the rest. I might actually be a little useful... How about giving me another chance?
[Mini-scene]
At a mission site:
A high-level inhuman creature attacked the group. At the critical moment, Song Wenjing unleashed his lightning and fire abilities, hurling it away.
His eyes blazed like fire, his expression steady. Like a god descending through flames, he said, "Don't be afraid. Next, we'll proceed according to the original plan..."
But Chu Tang furrowed her brows, and with a sweeping motion of both arms, forged a huge sword of scrap metal several people tall before her. The girl smiled brightly as the scrap-metal sword cleaved through the wind and charged forward!
"Get lost!"
Watching the girl grin amid the ruins, a few team members asked, "...Captain, are we sure this is okay?"
