[Amnesiac Prince Duan (Zhao Si), Disguised as a Man × Beautiful and Devoted Princess Consort]

Zhao Si woke up in a dilapidated house, where the village chief told her to go fifteen li east of the village to find her wife.

And so she found herself a wife who was unbelievably beautiful.

Her lovely wife adorned her hair with flowers, painted her eyebrows, and taught her to appreciate tea and read.

All Zhao Si could say was, "Beautiful beyond compare."

Several months later, Zhao Si found a letter from her lovely wife. It said only that something had come up with her family, and she would be back soon.

Later, when his wife still hadn't returned, Zhao Si went to the capital, where she received some shocking news: her beautiful wife was already married to someone else, and had been the famous Princess Consort of Prince Duan in the capital for years.

Downhearted, Zhao Si was about to leave when a close maid of the Princess Consort stopped her outside the city. "The Princess Consort has an eye ailment. Would you be willing to attend to her personally?"

Yun Qing was renowned throughout the capital for her beauty. When she came of age, she was sent to Prince Duan's estate and became his princess consort. Prince Duan treated her with great affection, but the two had no children. Yun Qing puzzled over this for a long time, until, in the third year of their marriage, Prince Duan went incognito on an inspection tour, was attacked, and lost his memory. Only then did Yun Qing learn that her husband was a woman.

Later, Zhao Si recovered her memories, ascended the throne, and accepted the officials' homage with Yun Qing at her side, naming her empress.

Empress Yun Qing showed Zhao Si the divorce letter she had received on their wedding night.

Emperor Zhao Si snatched the letter and tore it to shreds. Then she personally styled Yun Qing's hair and painted her eyebrows before handing Yun Qing a portrait she had mounted herself for her appraisal.

Yun Qing merely said, "It's passable. You still need more practice."

Zhao Si pretended to sulk.

Yun Qing relented. "Then practice in bed."

Delighted, Zhao Si scooped Yun Qing into her arms and hurried off to bed.

Author's note: Zhao Si disguises herself as a man for appearances. Her disguise is exposed in Chapter 2, and Yun Qing already knows.

Theme: Love begins without knowing why, and they meet again in the martial world.
