A spirited, straightforward IT genius who keeps bouncing back from failure x A composed, serious-seeming wolfish criminal police captain

Qiao Wang has a curse when it comes to love.

None of her relationships last more than a week. After seven romances, she’s still a beginner.

That night, after yet another failed relationship, she went to a bar alone to drown her sorrows.

Her ex had broken her heart, so she drank and drank until she was wasted.

In her daze, she spotted a handsome guy sitting at the next table.

He had sharp brows, bright eyes, and a chiseled face. In the dim light, the corners of his slightly upturned lips looked both gentle and alluring.

Qiao Wang thought, Who gets to date a man who looks this handsome and normal?

Then she thought, Why can’t it be me?

You have to make a move if you want a story!

So she grabbed two bottles of beer and staggered over to the next table. "Hey, handsome, can I get your num, bleurgh, "

"..."

Late that night, Qiao’s parents were growing anxious.

"Where’s Qiao Wang? Why isn’t she home yet?"

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Qiao’s dad opened the door to find a tall, handsome young man carrying the unconscious Qiao Wang over his shoulder. With a serious expression, he said, "Hello. I’m a police officer. Is this Qiao Wang’s home?"

Qiao’s dad: ??

Qiao’s mom: !!

Qiao Wang: Bleurgh

The next day, Qiao Wang was assigned as a technical specialist to assist the criminal investigation squad, only to discover that the captain was her first love, Duan Kai.

She was about to pretend she didn’t know him when Duan Kai cornered her in a hallway. "You threw up all over me last night. Pay me back for the dry cleaning."

Qiao Wang: "..."

Bonus scene:

Qiao Wang’s bizarre ex-boyfriend even showed up outside her workplace to beg her to take him back.

Before she could reply, Duan Kai appeared out of nowhere and put an arm around her shoulders.

"She’s not getting back together with you."

"Also, parking is prohibited outside the police station. The fine is 200 yuan."

Her ex-boyfriend cried foul. "Come on, man, even when you’re pursuing a girl, you have to respect who got there first!"

Duan Kai replied coolly, "As far as who came first, you should all call me your senior."

Both leads are inexperienced in love. Extra sweet.
