[Infinite] The Nightmare Descends

Fu Lin is a poor little thing.

Ever since he can remember, he has been trapped in the laboratory of a researcher who studies strange people, undergoing all kinds of inhuman experiments every day. If he didn't have his little sister to rely on, he might have given up long ago.

Then, on his twelfth birthday, the only family he had left was stolen away.

To find his sister, Fu Lin forces himself to endure the torment day after day. At last, years later, he finds a clue.

On a tiny wooden plaque, there is only one line: Nightmare Descends.

Nightmare Descends is an unlimited game world defined by all manner of terrifying tags: horror, suspense, survival, and escape.

No one knows what determines who gets chosen for this world. Perhaps it happens in the blink of an eye: one moment they are ordinary people, and the next they are fugitives struggling to survive against the gaping jaws of ghosts.

Then one day, a man appears in the world of Nightmare Descends.

He has power far beyond the ghosts in the game scenarios, and wherever he goes, the ghosts automatically make way for him.

No one knows what he really looks like. Those who have encountered him up close only know that he wears half a mask. The half of his face that is visible is pale and exquisite, as fragile as a fine porcelain figurine that might shatter at a touch.

His first words are always: "Have you seen my little sister? She's adorable. I've been looking for her for so long."

All the players think he is an angel sent to save them, a light of redemption shining into the world of Nightmare Descends.

It is only later that they realize his arrival is when the real nightmare descends upon the world.

Wen Yuan has always thought he is special to Fu Lin. They share equally tragic pasts, and as a top-ranked powerhouse and an object of admiration among the players, he is one of the few strong enough to stand by Fu Lin's side.

He thinks he can accompany Fu Lin all the way to the end.

Later, Wen Yuan discovers that Fu Lin's heart has long been filled by someone else: a little girl. Compared to her, he's worth less than nothing.

A truly deranged, double-personality experimental subject who only wants to find his sister, the shou x a gong who's just a little more normal than the shou, a top powerhouse who starts out completely unhinged and later gains a loyal-dog streak

P.S. The shou isn't normal. To be precise, he's not even human anymore. The gong is genuinely insane too. Even with his loyal-dog streak later on, he's still a mad dog, loyal only to the shou. Leave him off his leash and he might bite someone (not really).
