The Wild Wind Blows

"Hide your obsession in the wind, and even the wild grass will lose its way."

The day Chun Mo met Shang Jue, she was being cornered and bullied by a few people in an alley.

The boy leaned against a utility pole at the mouth of the alley, an unlit cigarette between his lips. His eyes were dark, and his thin chin tilted upward.

Chun Mo was the first to leave the alley. When she passed him, she suddenly stopped.

"You'd better pretend you didn't see anything, or they'll... Anyway, you're dead," she said, pressing her lips together as she offered a kind warning.

Shang Jue answered with a scoff.

A light breeze stirred the hem of Chun Mo's skirt, which covered her upper thighs. He raised an eyebrow and watched her walk away.

Everyone their age in Yemu Village knew what Shang Jue was like: cross him, and you'd regret it.

Even those who saw him kept their distance, but Chun Mo was always fearless, drawing near to him.

A sly, mysterious smile appeared on Shang Jue's face. He was more than happy to see someone come to him of their own accord.

Chun Mo was born with blue eyes, and everyone saw her as a monster.

The first time she saw Shang Jue, she knew deep down that she wanted to use him. She never expected that once she got involved with him, she wouldn't be able to shake him off.

She teased him, "You're not my dog."

Their eyes met. Shang Jue gave a self-mocking laugh and said, "That's different. I'm doing this of my own free will."
