My Own Side Has Too Many Exams, So I Joined the Villains

He Shang transmigrates into a book as the junior sister of the hero and heroine's sect, and is supposed to live safely and peacefully until the end. She's thrilled, until the very first day after she transmigrates: The sect's big exam. Nobody sleeps or eats that day, and when she goes out to use the bathroom, her senior brother scolds her for wasting time. At least the exam only lasts one day. After barely filling in the test paper, He Shang breathes a sigh of relief. But she never expects that they'll have exams every day from then on. They rely on their cultivators' hardy bodies, studying from dawn until almost dawn the next day, with less than an hour to sleep. The dining hall is always empty. Everyone says they need to study, and they ostracize He Shang for being an unmotivated good-for-nothing who heads straight to eat as soon as class ends. After living like this for a while, He Shang touches her rapidly receding hairline and finally can't take it anymore. She sets her sights on the rival demonic sect. Sure, it's known for producing villains, but she hears it's also the least ambitious place in the entire cultivation world. Everyone sleeps until they wake naturally, enjoys good food and drink, and has just one exam a semester, with teachers ready to help them out. The classes are so relaxed they're practically a waste of youth. Perfect. She's in. - The original story's main villain, Yu Huai. He wakes from a nap to find that a junior sister who eats a lot, sleeps a lot, and makes a racket has joined his sect. She seems afraid of him, and when they first meet, she scrambles to get away. But when she learns he used to be a healer, she immediately gives him a look of sympathetic understanding.
