Xin Gu is mentally ill.
Just because he once saw a blue sky and believed the world wasn't only black and white, he was sent to a psychiatric hospital.
People think Xin Gu is sick, but he certainly doesn't think so.
So he "escaped" with his fellow patient, Cen Song.
After leaving the hospital, Xin Gu and Cen Song decide to team up and explore the truth about the world. Ahem, that may sound a little chuunibyou, but they really do want to know why the world has turned black and white.
[There's not much to the blurb, so let me talk about what inspired me. I think it's pretty funny.]
One day, I was walking along, thinking without using my brain, "What if the world were only black and white..." Since I wasn't using my brain, my thoughts went in a strange direction, like this:
From the abstract, like human nature... to the literal, like a black-and-white comic... to the kids' videos I watched with my little cousin. As I remember it, one was about a witch stealing all the colors from the animal kingdom, and the color sprites defeating her and getting the colors back.
Then I thought: Ah, I suddenly want to write a story about searching for color in a black-and-white world.
[So this is a story written on a whim, with no outline. Updates whenever inspiration strikes. I'm not sure what the style will be, but it feels like a fairy tale, since it's about searching for color... Though a shonen battle manga could work too (?) ]
[Lots of other people have also realized something is wrong with the world, so my two cuties won't be fighting alone (yeah).]
[Also! I really want to write about weird stuff. If the whole world is a black-and-white comic, it can't hurt to add monsters and supernatural powers, right?]
Theme: The world should be a weave of light and shadow, bright and colorful.
