On the day the world entered the first year of Conan science, Narumi Kana had a nightmare:
In the dream, she and her lover weren't childhood friends who had grown up together, but first loves reunited after a long separation. Her lover transferred from the Mobile Unit to the First Investigative Division to avenge his childhood friend, but once he stepped onto the Ferris wheel, he never came back down.
Even the useless "me" in the dream couldn't bring herself to open his final message, she was so utterly despairing.
And somehow, her greatest act of courage was to step out of the sunlight and into the shadows surrounded by crows, all for the sake of revenge.
Narumi Kana jolted awake from her dream. Her lover had woken up too, startled by her, and held her in his arms to comfort her.
As she watched the moonlight fall on his fluffy curls outside the window, she thought of the crows that had been lurking in the shadows and spying on her research since college. Narumi Kana made up her mind:
She would never let herself reach that hopeless Bad Ending.
Reading guide:
1. Original heroine X Jinpei Matsuda. A rescue story, with warnings for a Versailles-style Mary Sue heroine and OOC characters.
2. Many headcanons. The heroine and the bomb squad are childhood friends. Before the romance, everyone is like a sibling, though they don't share a father or mother.
3. Includes a fair amount of descriptions of bleeding, injuries, and negative mental states.
4. The antagonists will be somewhat stronger. I'll try to make the criminal organization a little more booze-soaked.
