Weren't We Supposed to Be Archrivals?

"2023.06.02"

Qi Qingzhu and Li Wenchao were famously sworn enemies in the Main God Space.

They had tied for first place on the points leaderboard for years, but each thought the other undeserving. Whenever they happened to meet in the Main God Space, the air would crackle with silent hostility.

Later, the Main God Space opened up two-person missions, offering double points for completing them.

Without a second thought, Qi Qingzhu accepted a two-person mission and chose to be randomly matched with a teammate based on compatibility.

Then he was matched with Li Wenchao.

Qi Qingzhu: ?

Li Wenchao: ?

Qi and Li: What rotten luck.

Forced to complete missions together, they turned every cooperative mission into a solo fight.

Then, because their compatibility was too low to clear the missions, the Main God System ordered them to complete three two-person worlds together to improve their compatibility. Otherwise, they would lose half their points.

Qi Qingzhu: ... What rotten luck!

Li Wenchao: ... Hm?

With a cold expression, Qi Qingzhu accepted the penalty missions and went with Li Wenchao to do various two-person tasks meant to improve their compatibility.

But were these tasks a little too weird?

"Mission One: Spend a day at an amusement park with your partner."

"Mission Four: Hold hands with your partner and watch the sunset."

"Mission Nine: Have an in-depth conversation with your partner."

"..."

Qi Qingzhu: What is this supposed to be?

Li Wenchao: Hmm... This actually sounds pretty nice.

Qi Qingzhu: ?

Qi Qingzhu realized that the missions weren't the only strange thing. His sworn enemy seemed to be getting stranger by the day, too.

Li Wenchao stood atop a high-rise surrounded by zombies and produced a bouquet of flowers from who knew where.

"This might be a little ill-timed, but would you agree to become my permanent partner?"

Qi Qingzhu: ???

Weren't we supposed to be sworn enemies?

A proud, sickly but incredibly strong shou x a sharp-tongued, fun-loving gong who eventually falls hard.

① As is customary, this is a 1v1 romance. It's a sweet little treat~

② Infinite-flow, but no horror scenarios, because the author is a coward herself (

③ I'm not good at plot, so the focus is on romance. Don't expect too much from the world-specific plots.

Theme: The best way to reduce or eliminate prejudice is to get to know people through close contact.
