My Archrival Insists I Win Him Over

[I was ill before, which interrupted my writing, so I've revised the earlier chapters. I've mainly adjusted details and phrasing, without changing the original story or setting, so it won't affect your reading. Updates will be sporadic for now. Sorry! or2]

Blurb:

Three years after failing her mission, Lin Yuheng wakes up in a mass grave in the middle of the night.

A young, handsome Daoist stands on her grave, smiling as he tells her to hurry up and climb out.

Lin Yuheng recognizes that face.

Long ago, he was the rival she had racked her brains to defeat.

Back then, she was the beloved young lady of the Taiyi Sect, while he was the youngest Daoist prodigy in the history of the Daoist sects.

Childhood friends with equal talent, they should have been the golden couple in everyone's eyes. But from the moment they met, they clashed like fire and water.

Later, Lin Yuheng was bound to a System. To win over the Child of Destiny, Zhao Jingjue, she went out of her way to target Lu Lichuan, eventually even driving him to become a demon.

He must have hated her more than anything.

And now, she was wearing an unfamiliar face, while her former nemesis had become her savior...

Lin Yuheng nervously guarded her secret identity, afraid Lu Lichuan would take revenge. But the incessant System that had assigned her the mission kept chattering in her ear:

"Warning, Host! Your mission is to win over Zhao Jingyu. You must not harm your target! First warning, warning, "

Lin Yuheng couldn't take it anymore.

Fortunately, Lu Lichuan snapped the System off with a casual, "You're annoying."

When the truth came out and old scores resurfaced, Lin Yuheng closed her eyes and prepared to die. Instead, he smiled and lifted her chin.

He said that if her devotion to Zhao Jingjue in the past had been because of that so-called System mission, then

"Want to try winning me over?"

*Black-hearted lotus X cunning fox

*Low-magic alternate world / bickering couple (?) / rivals-to-lovers / both leads are virgins, that's right / tons of headcanon

P.S. Neither lead is exactly a good person. They'll do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. She's the top, he's head over heels for her. They're made for each other.

Theme: Love yourself before loving someone else.
