Lian Shuo is a new graduate student at Shenghua University.
He has Bed One. Dorm 605 is a five-person room, with five beds in all.
Bed Two belongs to a taciturn top student.
Bed Three belongs to the social butterfly of Dorm 605. He killed himself.
In the dead of night, when the dorm was empty, he leaped from the sixth-floor balcony and ended his life.
Bed Four belongs to a muscular athlete who plays soccer for the university team and comes from a wealthy family.
Bed Five belongs to someone who loves studying. On the day it happened, he was pulling an all-nighter at the library.
The police concluded that the doors and windows were intact, so foul play was ruled out.
The next day, the family came to campus and demanded compensation, questioning the conclusion that it was suicide. But the university had sent the body to the funeral home the day before. All they received was an urn of ashes.
