[Synopsis]
Su Qiao made a very foolish decision.
For the sake of her doctoral dissertation, she entered the Cthulhu universe she had created herself.
On the very first day, her investigation subject showed symptoms of having their soul disappear.
On the very first day, her supervisor suspected she had come from nowhere.
And on that same first day,
she met It in the library.
Marks appearing on people's bodies ate away at their sanity.
Manuscripts written in inhuman languages recounted incantations.
People began disappearing along the coastline, one after another.
The dead were revived with foul-smelling potions...
When the members of the team investigating alongside her began uncontrollably gnawing at their own flesh and gouging out their eyes in the dark...
Su Qiao rapidly pieced together the scattered clues in her mind. With help from documents and field interviews, she filtered out irrational interference,
then approached each corrupted teammate and loudly recited pseudocode in a calm, clear, utterly level voice, raising everyone's SAN value!
This behavior attracted the attention of Yog-Sothoth, the Outer God who knew everything in this world.
It projected itself into the human body of Shen Xing and joined her adventure, unable to help itself.
It even asked her, an ordinary human:
"Is love a high-risk form of cognitive contamination?"
