One day, Yu Wan transmigrates to the state of Chen in the early years of the Western Zhou dynasty.
Her father is Chen Gongman, a descendant of Emperor Shun and the founding ruler of Chen. Her mother is Daji, the eldest daughter of King Wu. Her maternal grandfather is the celebrated King Wu of Zhou, and her maternal grandmother is Yijiang, daughter of the equally celebrated Jiang Taigong.
And the current King of Zhou is her mother’s younger brother, her own eldest maternal uncle.
So does that mean she’s been handed the script of a winner in life who can just lie flat this time around?
Five-year-old Yu Wan counts on her fingers as she works out her family background. She can’t help but breathe a sigh of relief. Thank goodness. With so many powerful relatives backing her, she thinks, at least she doesn’t have to worry about her life being in danger.
