Childhood friends
A new family moved in next door to the Peis. Mrs. Pei asked Pei Lin to take some fruit from their garden over to the neighbors. Before long, Pei Lin came back, shouting excitedly, "Mom, this little brother says he wants to come home with me!"
Mrs. Pei took a closer look. Pei Lin was clutching a lovely little boy, as cute as a jade doll, so tightly that his little face had turned red. Every inch of him screamed, "I don't want this!"
Cheng An had been sweet and well-behaved since he was little. Unfortunately, since he was born prematurely, he was often sick. For the sake of his health, his parents moved to the warmer south.
Cheng An was quiet and reserved, and didn't like to talk. His parents had worried he wouldn't make any friends, but on his very first day in their new home, he made the best friend in the world: Pei Lin.
Pei Lin was bossy by nature, a little terror who had never cared to make friends. Then one day, he saw Cheng An, as adorable as a snow doll, and decided they would be friends forever.
The first step to becoming friends: take him to meet Mom!
The second step: share candy with him!
The third step: let him sleep in your bed!
The Nth step: marry him and bring him home as your wife!
