I originally set out to write a fanfic about Madam Wang.

But as I wrote, I seem to have made quite a few characters a little more wicked than they should be.

There are also plenty of original additions and settings.

Still, it is indeed based on the work The Story of Minglan.

So I can only say it's a rather OOC fanfic.
