A withdrawn genius esports boy who is the one being pursued x the top player in esports who is the pursuer.
QWER, a once-champion team now in decline, suddenly announced a new top laner, without even releasing a photo.
The team's haters:
"The former powerhouse, Keyboard Face-Rollers, is broke? They signed an unknown rookie to use as their new scapegoat?"
"They won't even release a picture. Is the rookie that ugly?"
"This year, they'll stop at the quarterfinals. Next year, they'll get relegated to the lower league. Even I could do better."
Jing Huai, the current captain of QWER, is the top jungler in the LPL and won a grand slam in his debut year.
He has played competitively for four years, and has never been linked to anyone, in or out of the scene.
But in the first match of the new season,
the esports superstar who never lets anyone get close gently leads a boy, whose face is only visible in profile, onto the stage.
The boy looks down at his feet, wearing blue, fully enclosed headphones. His fine, soft hair rests obediently against his face, which is as delicate and flawless as the rest of him.
Everyone is stunned.
"The rookie's acting so important? He needs God Huai to lead him onstage?"
"The rookie is so handsome! He can hold his own even next to God Huai's peerless good looks."
"Oh no, girls, just looking at their faces, I can kind of see the appeal."
"What's the point of being handsome? In esports, being bad is the only sin. Let's see if he cries when they lose later."
Once the match begins,
Lu Shi wears the most harmless face while dealing the most brutal damage.
On his debut day, he scores a pentakill.
After the match, Jing Huai leads him to the interview room again, but this time the boy is no longer wearing his fully enclosed headphones.
The boy half-hides behind his captain, nervously holding Jing Huai's hand as he answers the host's questions in a soft, obedient voice. He is completely different from the mad dog he was during the match.
Then a comment appears on the screen:
"If I hadn't watched him play, I'd think Keyboard Face-Rollers had hired a stand-in."
"Girls, did you notice? God Huai hasn't taken his eyes off the cutie for a second! What else could this be but love?!"
"Get out of here with your shipping! God Shi is fighting for the championship!"
Later, on the podium at the World Finals, the usually aloof God Huai pulls the boy into his arms and kisses him, shielding his face from view.
#Thank you for giving everything to make my dream come true.
#For you, I am invincible!
