Earl Povitch, whose Chinese name is Qiqi, is the second child in his family and is known in the underworld as 2B Bro. He is half Chinese and half Croatian, the star player of the Croatian national table tennis team and the designated next captain. In reality, he is a turncoat, secretly a Croatian football team undercover agent. A devoted fan of Modric, he once took a six-hour overnight train to London just to watch him play, and he often likes videos shipping Modric with himself.
He is even better at football than table tennis, but he has always been passionate about collecting silver medals from table tennis tournaments. In truth, he is a sacrificial archmage: every time he wins a silver medal, the Croatian football team wins a championship.
Excerpt 1:
Kovacic: Earl, didn't you say you'd quit football if you couldn't win the table tennis championship?
Povitch: For Luka, I would. I would.
Excerpt 2:
Reporter: Earl, what are your plans for the next stage of your career?
Povitch: I think I ought to win either the Ballon d'Or or a gold medal, right?
Reporter: So you'll score more goals and try to win the Ballon d'Or?
Povitch: No. I've decided to retire alongside Modric next season, then train for table tennis in seclusion.
Many years later, after spending twenty years striving in the world of table tennis, Povitch tells his little nephew, "Don't play with your uncle's gold medal. I only have one. You can use all my silver medals to build with."
