The Disabled Immortal Venerable Can't Forget Him

When Yun Zhao was sixteen, a young man in a wheelchair came to the Medicine Sect: Lu Mingxiao, the young sect master of the Lu family, the top immortal sect in the Northern Region. It was said that he had ventured alone into a Profound-Rank secret realm and come back with both legs broken. The Lu family asked the Medicine Sect to do everything in its power to treat him.

As the Medicine Sect master's youngest son, and about the same age as Lu Mingxiao, Yun Zhao was put in charge of looking after him. But Lu Mingxiao wanted nothing to do with him. He had always been proud and arrogant, and now, with both legs broken and confined to a wheelchair, he could not stand accepting anyone's help. He became gloomy and withdrawn, avoiding people altogether.

Yun Zhao was lively and restless, and he loved a challenge. The less Lu Mingxiao wanted him around, the more determined Yun Zhao was to stick by him. He brewed medicine for Lu Mingxiao, nearly killing him with vomiting and diarrhea. He prepared a medicinal bath, but used the wrong incense and almost drowned him. He took Lu Mingxiao down the mountain for training, and the wheelchair rolled down a slope, breaking one of Lu Mingxiao's arms.

Lu Mingxiao gritted his teeth. "Stay away from me. I don't want to die young."

Yun Zhao showed no remorse. "Come on, I'll be more careful next time."

After two years of being tormented by Yun Zhao, Lu Mingxiao found himself reluctant to leave the day he finally left the Medicine Sect. While Yun Zhao was drunk, he placed a Heartbound Curse on him and whispered in his ear that once he returned and finished his seclusion, he would come back to confess his feelings and make Yun Zhao his cultivation partner.

But that parting nearly became a farewell forever.

The Medicine Sect was annihilated. Everyone said that not one of its more than a hundred members had survived, but Lu Mingxiao knew Yun Zhao was still alive.

Lu Mingxiao searched for Yun Zhao for ten years. When they met again, Yun Zhao was still as cheerful and smiling as ever, but his smile concealed a blade. He was ruthless, killing without batting an eye, and soon became the number one target of the immortal sects. Yet no one managed to catch him, because Yun Zhao had someone protecting him.

Ten years ago, Lu Mingxiao arrived too late. Ten years later, he would protect Yun Zhao with everything he had, no matter who was right or wrong.
