Everyone at Z University knows the secret: Yao Zhi has a crush on Gu Zhiyan.
They were both born into wealthy families, but Yao Zhi kept hitting a wall. She followed Gu Zhiyan, who had defied his family, and started studying acting too.
On her birthday night, Gu Zhiyan arranged a grand celebration for everyone to see, all in honor of Yao Zhi.
But in front of everyone, he invited Yao Zhi's roommate to be his dance partner.
The day she turned nineteen was also the day Yao Zhi woke from her dream.
Through the curtain, she heard Gu Zhiyan's voice.
"Are you satisfied? What could Yao Zhi and I possibly be? You're the only one I want."

In the pouring rain, unable to bear years of hurt any longer, Yao Zhi found a secluded corner where she planned to cry her heart out.
She had barely let out a couple of sobs when the door suddenly swung open. Seeing a few tears at the corners of her eyes, the newcomer asked, "Practicing your crying scene here? You're pretty convincing."
With her eyes slightly swollen, she recognized him in the dim light:
Lu Shijia, Gu Zhiyan's roommate.

The "Zhi Latte" pairing has been trending online, all because of an answer on Zhihu.
The viral post was titled: Are there really any rare, genuine couples in the entertainment industry who aren't pretending for publicity?
One answer received tens of thousands of likes: Is there really anyone who doesn't ship Gu Zhiyan and Yao Zhi? Childhood friends, a feast for the eyes, perfectly matched families, senior and junior at the same university. Best of all, look at this photo.
Attached was a candid photo of the two taken at university. Yao Zhi's almond-shaped eyes were fixed unabashedly on Gu Zhiyan. Anyone could see how deeply she loved him.
Not long afterward, someone found a wallet. The only thing inside that could identify its owner was a photo: Yao Zhi being carried on the back of a tall, slender young man, turning to look at the camera in that instant.
The CP fans went wild, tagging Gu Zhiyan and urging him to claim the wallet. Half a day later, someone finally responded.
It was Lu Shijia.
The youngest actor in the country to win all three major film awards rarely posted on social media, but this time he wrote: "It's my wallet. My assistant has sent you a private message. Please check it."
That night, Gu Zhiyan, furious, knocked on Lu Shijia's door.
But Yao Zhi answered. Her watery eyes were red, and the collar of her shirt, unbuttoned by two or three buttons, revealed red marks on her collarbone.
Lu Shijia hurried over and put his jacket around Yao Zhi.
He didn't even spare Gu Zhiyan at the door a glance.
He gritted his teeth and said, "You answer the door dressed like this for some other guy? Are you trying to make me die of anger so you can be a widow?"
