I Was an Electrician in the 1980s

Ye Qiuying transmigrated, becoming a penniless orphan girl in the 1980s.

As a senior electrical and mechanical engineer, Ye Qiuying thought she could make a decent living as a repairwoman. She set up a street stall, scavenged and recycled old appliances, then dismantled and repaired them to sell alongside small appliances she made herself. Life was peaceful and comfortable.

She looked at her shabby home, now equipped with one homemade appliance after another: a refrigerator, a color TV, a washing machine, even an air conditioner with voice control and fully automatic functions. Ye Qiuying was pleased. Any one of them would draw a crowd if she put it on display.

She just hadn't expected to get saddled with a certain someone after repairing his car once. He wanted to take care of everything: where she went, what she ate, and even when she went to bed?!

Shen Heng, head of the technical department at a major state-owned factory, had met female technicians before. But when he saw the petite Ye Qiuying climb into a boiler without hesitation, welding torch in hand, his heart pounded. Was this woman ever fierce!

From then on, Section Chief Shen kept showing up at Ye Qiuying's home every few days, claiming he was recruiting talent.

But he never expected that Comrade Ye, who was always so diligent at work, couldn't manage her own life in private. She never knew where her next meal was coming from, and the stove was always cold both inside and outside the house.

Shen Heng glanced at the person focused on working with electronic components, tied on an apron, and got to work. It was all for recruiting talent!

Who could have guessed that the usually aloof and restrained Section Chief Shen, who seemed like an untouchable beauty, was actually a homebody boyfriend who cleaned and cooked like a devoted dad?
