A horror survival game has descended upon the world, pulling countless people inside to struggle for their lives.
They say that anyone who clears the game can have one wish granted. But if you die in the game, you'll die in real life, too.
But none of that has anything to do with Shi Yi. He's just an ordinary NPC in the game.
In The Cozy Home, he plays a delivery man bringing food to the players. He never expected that as soon as he knocked, one of the strange players would yank him inside. "It's dangerous outside. Get in!"
Shi Yi: ...Shouldn't I be the one who looks more dangerous?
In Ancestor Worship, he plays a college student returning to his hometown. He's supposed to be the first to get killed off, with his death driving the plot forward and giving players clues. Instead, a strange player pulls him behind them. "Don't go. I'll play the sacrifice."
Shi Yi: ...If I don't go, who'll give you the clues?
In The Castle, he's the gloomy, mysterious butler, meant to welcome guests on behalf of the castle's owner. But a strange player pulls him into a corner. "The castle is dangerous. Stay by my side."
Shi Yi: ...Can't you tell I'm the butler?
There's no helping it. To avoid violating the NPC Confidentiality Rules, he has to clear the game alongside that strange player.
Later, after learning his true identity, the strange player doesn't show the slightest fear. Instead, his eyes quietly redden. "Even if you don't really die, the process must still hurt..."
