An Encounter with an Immortal

The timeworn, noble Immortal Venerable versus the proud, radiant High God who has lost his memory

He charges fearlessly into danger for love, saving someone only to leave them adrift for a lifetime.

Xie Heng loved to hold the long sword in his hand. Though Bai Duo was hardly a top-quality sword, it was one he had chosen from countless candidates after being exceptionally particular.

This sword of Xie Heng's was often the subject of jokes among the people.

"The wind passes through here. The Immortal Venerable must have been here," said Jin Wuya, sitting on the roof as he watched the Immortal Venerable hurry across the sky. He meant it as a joke.

Hearing this, Xie Heng stopped in his tracks. He looked down and froze.

This person was breathtakingly beautiful.

"What brings you to the mortal realm?"

Jin Wuya made no attempt to hide anything and promptly replied, "I only remember that I fought to the death to come to the mortal realm. Surely there's someone here whom I must protect and love."

Xie Heng was a wanderer who traveled the world. He kept all people in his heart, putting the world first and his personal feelings second. In the end, even a man like him would give up!

From strangers at the start to being closer than anyone later on! They went through so, so much. How could the young lord of the demon clan simply leave at will?

"Immortal Venerable, don't we seem to have met before?"

"No."

The one who should never have returned came back after all. Gui Jiu Mountain, Spirit of the Wind.

The years stretched on, and sooner or later, the past was bound to come around again.

He never expected to hear those words before he died:

"Why don't you come back with me, Immortal Venerable? I'll treat you well." Jin Wuya reached out, gazing at the person before him with heartache.

The gods sit high above; the immortals roam at ease.
