An ensemble story, mainly about the people and events the heroine encounters while traveling to different places in the interstellar era, invited or hired to operate excavators~
(There is a male lead, but little romance.)
Here's an unfinished blurb:
For three generations, everyone in the Qi family had studied literature. Pick any name in the family tree, and you'd find at least one work by them still in circulation.
But in Qi Miaomiao's generation, she got behind the controls of an... excavator.
Qi's mom was exasperated. "Have you written today's 5,000-word practice piece? All you do is dig, dig, dig. What else can you dig besides dirt? Can't you amount to something?"
Qi Miaomiao, who never dared to raise her voice, finally talked back to her mother over this. "I can dig up graves..."
Qi's mom's anger shot up by 99 points, and Qi Miaomiao made a run for it.
"In a little garden, dig, dig, dig..."
Bang!
Qi Miaomiao: Huh? What blew up?
In the blink of an eye, Qi Miaomiao found herself sitting inside an oddly shaped excavator, its bucket digging toward what looked like a "grave mound".
Qi Miaomiao frantically yanked the controls. "Aah! I was just saying that, I don't actually want to dig up a grave!"
But the excavator wouldn't obey her. It dug right through the top of the "grave mound," revealing another... excavator?
Then a dirt-covered person climbed out of that excavator and said to her, "You win."
Qi Miaomiao found herself standing on a podium.
The audience seats were clearly empty, yet cheers kept ringing out around her.
With the champion's trophy in her hands, Qi Miaomiao's social anxiety went into overdrive. She had no idea what was happening.
"Congratulations to this contestant on winning the championship in this year's Rising Star Cup Excavator Competition!"
When the ceremony ended, Qi Miaomiao's vision suddenly went dark. From outside came a series of knocks, along with a woman's voice.
"Miaomiao, why aren't you coming out?"
Qi Miaomiao: Why am I inside an "eggshell"?!
