Pei Qian transmigrates into the sidekick of a universally adored protagonist. He has to be the protagonist's devoted lackey, spending money and cleaning up his messes.
Following the System's instructions, Pei Qian diligently plays the role of a human ATM. Later, he realizes that the biggest obstacle to his mission isn't the protagonist's outrageous behavior, but his so-called romantic rival.
Yan Yunsheng, the aloof and proud white moonlight from the original story.
Pei Qian doesn't get it. Has this character gone off the rails? Why has this untouchable flower suddenly started orbiting the protagonist too?
The protagonist smashes Yan Yunsheng's phone, and Pei Qian hurriedly raises his hand. "I'll pay double!"
But Yan Yunsheng says coldly, "It's old. I was just thinking of replacing it."
The protagonist stains Yan Yunsheng's designer suit, and Pei Qian immediately pulls out his card. "I'll cover the dry cleaning!"
Yan Yunsheng tosses the jacket straight into the trash. "It's dirty. Bad luck."
The protagonist gets drunk, causes a scene, and ruins a Yan family matchmaking banquet. Pei Qian is about to speak excitedly, but hears Yan Yunsheng calmly tell the butler, "Let him make a scene. Remember to record it. It's pretty entertaining."
Pei Qian grinds his teeth in frustration and vows to take down this top rival! Then he fails the mission again and completely breaks down.
That night, with the alcohol gone to his head, he pins Yan Yunsheng against the wall. His eyes red, he demands, "Y-you're doing this on purpose, aren't you? Can't you just let me spend money on him?!"
Pinned against the wall, Yan Yunsheng leisurely brushes a hand over his hair. "Are you his boyfriend? Why do you keep paying for his messes?"
Pei Qian says miserably, "I'm his devoted lackey!"
"Oh." Yan Yunsheng nods and offers a sincere suggestion. "Then why not devote yourself to someone else?"
Pei Qian is dumbfounded. "Huh?"
"For example," Yan Yunsheng says as if it's the most natural thing in the world, "be my personal lackey. Spend money only on me, and clean up only my messes."
He pauses, then adds, "You don't have to fawn over anyone else, just..."
"Just what?"
Yan Yunsheng lowers his head and kisses the corner of his lips.
"Just let me fawn over you."
Pei Qian's brain crashes.
