Back Before the Regent Prince Turned Evil

Su Jiayan was murdered in his previous life, and his body was kept in cold storage for two years. The one who kept him there was Gu Xianzhi, the regent who held power over the court. Su Jiayan had never met him, but had heard he was a cruel and wanton official, the sort who would keep a beauty locked away and torment him day and night without a moment's rest. After being reborn, Su Jiayan approached Gu Xianzhi to seek revenge. He thought he would have to live on the edge of a knife, but instead Gu Xianzhi took care of him in every possible way. Even when drugged, Gu Xianzhi gently coaxed him away. He was practically a saint. As the two grew closer, Su Jiayan used him, guilt gnawing at his heart. With his revenge all but complete, he still couldn't bring himself to reveal his feelings. Nor did he want things to stay as they were, so he decided to end their relationship on his own. Su Jiayan: "Thank you for helping me." Gu Xianzhi: "No need to thank me." Su Jiayan: "Then... I'll be going?" Gu Xianzhi: "Mm." Su Jiayan: "You're a good person." Gu Xianzhi watched in silence as he walked away with such resolve, then softly said, "I'm not." Notice: 1. Blurb finalized on 2025.2.27. 2. This falls far short of outstanding serious fiction.
