A devoted, scheming corporate president and a clearheaded, gentle inheritor of an intangible cultural heritage
A long-laid plan, followed by a marriage that blossoms into love

Sheng Chi first met Yu Fan at the Vienna State Opera in Austria.
She wore a dark gown, with a cello in front of her and a bow in her right hand. When the bow drew across the strings, she played Saint-Saens's "The Swan" like a song from heaven.
After the concert, he walked out of the opera house.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him.
High heels clattered up the wooden stairs, hurried and frantic.
He turned around.
She raced down flight after flight of stairs like a butterfly and crashed into his arms.
The Danube breeze carried a faint chill.
The person in his arms raised her face, her eyes glistening with tears.
They met again later, in the middle of the night.
She was drunk and stumbled in front of his car.
The moment her drunken eyes landed on him, she grabbed his lapel and cursed him without a second thought: "Bastard, you cold-blooded capitalist, you heartless businessman!"

To reclaim her grandfather's kiln, Yu Fan married a man she'd only met three times.
Two days later, Sheng Chi handed her the land-use rights transfer documents.
Yu Fan gripped the papers and asked him, "How much? I'll pay you."
"You don't have to."
The man had a noble bearing and an indifferent expression. His voice was calm and pleasant, with the languid ease of someone born to the upper class.
"Consider it a betrothal gift."
Later,
Yu Fan spent a month shaping a piece of pottery and firing it in the kiln. On their wedding night, she gave Sheng Chi a Jun ware bowl with a yaobian glaze that she'd made herself.
"It's my dowry."

Sheng Chi, president of the Shengshi Hotel Group, married quietly, and almost no one outside knew who his bride was.
Until the variety show "Our Newlywed Life" premiered.
In front of the cameras, Sheng Chi, dressed in simple, comfortable loungewear and looking languid, walked into the bedroom.
On the double bed, a woman slept beneath the covers, her features bright and beautiful. She was none other than Yu Fan, the gorgeous director of a Jian ware art gallery who had recently become famous online.
The usually noble and aloof President Sheng gazed at her with tenderness and leaned down to leave a gentle kiss on her cheek.
He spoke in a warm, soft voice.
"Darling, it's time to get up."
Yaobian: the supreme glaze color in Jian ware, formed by chance when ceramic glaze and kiln fire interact in a state of extreme transformation. It is a rare beauty, impossible to seek out.
