White Tower

Inside the White Tower, all is peaceful and serene.

Outside the White Tower, danger lurks everywhere.

Everyone who lives in the White Tower knows this.

Ever since Mu Qi was diagnosed with a highly abnormal mental form, he has not left the White Tower for a long time.

"Never heard of it."

"Over there, the Black Tower."

Following his finger, Mu Qi sees a towering building not far away.

How strange. The Black Tower looks exactly like the White Tower, except that its exterior is black.

"What's inside?"

"Friendship, love, and freedom."

"There's stuff like that inside a tower?"

"Of course. The tower has everything we need."

In this world, everyone awakens a superpower.

Shi Yan awakens his on his twelfth birthday.

He sees the truth of the world, accidentally kills his parents, and is then locked away in the Superpower Control Institute.

He spends the next seven long years there.

Every day, he is forced to swallow bitter medicine. Cold needles pierce his skin again and again, and everyone declares him beyond saving.

Until Shen Du, a newly arrived superpower control officer, walks into his world.

He's different. The medicine he gives Shi Yan is sweet.

Shen Du's perspective:

Shen Du is a top psychologist at Wuling Sanatorium, specializing in all kinds of difficult cases.

Until he takes on Shi Yan, the patient the entire hospital staff has deemed "extremely dangerous and not to be approached."

Shi Yan is quiet. He always obediently takes his medicine and goes to sleep, and even gives Shen Du a sweet smile when they meet.

Everyone says Shi Yan's condition is improving. Only Shen Du knows that Shi Yan's "illness" has all transferred to him.

He starts having nightmares, all of which feature Shi Yan's eyes.

He starts hallucinating, hearing Shi Yan's voice everywhere.

"Doctor Shen," Shi Yan says softly in the ward in the middle of the night, "have you... been sleeping well lately?"
