The Beloved in My Palm (Reborn)

From the moment Wei Yong was born, the people of the realm considered him an ill omen.

As the disgraced former crown prince, the first twenty years of his life were shrouded in darkness, without a trace of light.

Then, on a rainy day, a young palace maid held an umbrella over him, hiding his crippled legs and bedraggled appearance. Rain glimmered in her eyes as she said, slowly and clearly, "Your Highness, you have to stand back up."

Later, amid the bloody struggle for the throne, those were the only words he could hear: "Your Highness, you have to stand back up."

She was his most treasured darling, from the Eastern Palace to the imperial palace, from this moment to eternity.

To Shen Jiao, the Wei Yong from her previous life was terrifyingly deep and inscrutable. He carried his hatred through a sea of blood and rose to the highest throne, yet his brutality made the people despise him, and he met a miserable end.

The day she held an umbrella over him was a moment's impulse. It was only because, in her previous life, she had been crawling on the ground in front of Ziyang Palace while a consort punished her, and he had simply said, "Let her go."

She had always known he wasn't bad at all. It was the world that had been too cruel to him.
