[Demon Slayer] Thin Leaves Are Flowers

After the dust settled, Zenitsu Agatsuma decided to write an autobiography. He portrayed himself as nine feet tall, skilled in both letters and combat, and the current Thunder Hashira.

...But after writing ten thousand words, he still hadn't gotten to his own entrance.

That's because he'd used all the pages before that to describe how everyone praised Usuha Shiika, calling her like a primrose, like a violet, like a camellia. He even had Giyu Tomioka say quite a few things (?).

Zenitsu's hearing was exceptionally sharp. He could always hear the sounds that came from Shiika: her steady breathing and heartbeat, her soft chuckles and loud laughter, and, now and then, the quiet sound of her tears when no one else was looking.

And yet he could never quite hear her voice. Whenever he faced her, the pounding of his own heart, thump, thump, thump, thump, roared like a blizzard, drowning out everything around him.

The girl smiled softly. The instant her smile struck him, he heard her say:

"Then you can hear my heartbeat right now, can't you?"

**

Usuha is not a leaf.

She is a flower, like something out of a poem.

CP: Zenitsu Agatsuma x Usuha Shiika

* Follows the original, but in an alternate timeline. I'll do my best to keep the characters alive.

* The story is meant to be lighthearted, and I want the characters from the original to interact. It's probably a romantic comedy, because, well, it's Zenitsu! I'll expand on Zenitsu's story, including the Swordsmith Village arc, where he barely appeared in the original.

Theme: After reading the original and the official guidebook, I grew very fond of Zenitsu. One day I suddenly realized he'd be perfect for an older-woman-younger-man romance, so I decided to write one. I hope to tell a relatively lighthearted story against the heavy backdrop. I also want to interact with the characters in the original Demon Slayer Corps, because they're all so adorable!
