Tang Zheng's Miscellaneous Records of the Ming Emperor states: In Xinfeng Market, there was a female entertainer named Xie Aman, who excelled at dancing the Lingbo Melody. She often entered the palace, and Yang Guifei treated her very well. It is said that Xie Aman also died in the Mawei Mutiny.
Another record says: "Xie Aman was a fourth-rank female official and a palace dancer. She and the Noble Consort were exceptionally close. The Noble Consort once gave her a gold-decorated armlet..."
