In the eyes of upper-class Betas, Alphas are impulsive, violent brutes. Their heats make them especially sensitive and prone to rashly falling in love, making them total scumbags or scumbags in the making. Omegas are all hopeless romantics, emotionally volatile and entirely ruled by their glands. Aside from making a huge contribution to the Alliance's birth rate, they have no redeeming qualities.

To lower-class Betas, Alphas are heroes with incredible combat prowess who defend the Alliance. Marrying an outstanding Alpha is an easy way to climb the social ladder. Omegas are obedient and adorable, and likely to give birth to exceptional children.

Qi Bei used to be a lower-class Beta, but later became an upper-class Beta. She changed a lot, but the one thing that never changed was her refusal of a Beta arranged marriage and her choice of an Alpha partner.

The upper-class Betas sneer, "The lower class will always be the lower class. They're base to the bone."

Later, the Alliance's most powerful Alpha bows before Qi Bei, and the stoic general who saves the Alliance and becomes a hero of the new era shows a gentle smile only to her. They have no choice but to admit that Qi Bei was right.
