That summer,
Lin Zaijiu quit her job and took out all her savings. On her twenty-fourth birthday, she set off on a journey through busy streets and across cities, calling it the "Sunset Escape Plan" and redefining herself along the way.
She set out from Changsha, where she met Gu Yingfeng.
The two, each suffering from the same troubles, agreed to escape together and find redemption in this world.
"Scene One"
"Is the sun about to set?" Lin Zaijiu noticed the orange-red patch beside the table slowly fading.
Following her gaze, Gu Yingfeng looked over. "Yeah, it's almost seven."
"Do you think we can see the whole Xiang River from here?"
The boy replied, "Yeah."
"Scene Two"
"Gu Yingfeng, doesn't that street corner in Nanjing look like a scene from a book we once read?" Lin Zaijiu said with a smile, pointing at the old street corner.
Gu Yingfeng followed her gaze. It was as though the characters they had read about back then had truly come alive and stepped into their lives.
The boy was bright as sunshine, someone I could never forget.
"Escape with the sunset, find yourself on the road, savor the affairs of the world, learn the taste of everyday life, and save yourself."
--"We crossed a marsh full of ravines, struggling through it. In a daze, someone reached out and held on tight, pulling you into a manor bathed in the sunset. As you wandered there, you met a cloud that shared your troubles, and seemed to find a brightly lit sanctuary in this world."
